Fiber coming soon to Blue Ridge

Over the last several years, WCFIBER has built a relationship with Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative. In September 2020, WCFIBER entered into a partnership with Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative to provide WCFIBER services in the Blue Ridge service area.

Blue Ridge was organized in 1940 and serves almost 66,000 members over 6,900 miles of power line. WCFIBER was organized in 1952 and serves high speed internet service over a fiber network to approximately 20,000 members over more than 3,000 miles of fiber. The core values and culture of both organizations are similarly aligned and both are customer focused and community minded. 

Entering into this agreement is the first step in a long line of steps towards bringing this vital service to the Blue Ridge membership. Providing service will be a lengthy process that will encounter many challenges along the way. We will keep you updated on the construction plans on this updates blog so check back frequently!
